Primer,

I just wanted to lend my help with the definition, that you are curious about.  These are the definitions that I use for them.  I believe that it comes down to the spelling of the word.  That is just my pennie's worth.

Dood = SHIT

Dude = Buddy, Bro, Pal

I think I will work all that into one of my vocabulary lessons.  I am sure the kids would love that. 

it was dude, but spelled "DOOD" for pronunciation purposes.
